Clifton School of Arts will hold an Open History Day on Sunday 12 August 2018 between 10am and 4pm
Members have been busy collecting family stories and are looking for more this year to add to their records as they build a significant picture of life as it was in the Northern Illawarra.
School of Arts spokesperson Down Crowther says they know a few retired miners from Coalcliff Colliery will attend. “We are inviting more,” she says, “so there should be some great stories there.”
The exhibits will be spread out over the whole ground floor of the CSA so they are wheelchair friendly.
“Our open days have proven to be mini reunions of past residents,” says Dawn, ” and its a delight to see the contacts made.
“We invite people to write down their stories about their contact with the CSA and bring them along on the day.
“Many current residents would not be aware of just how important Clifton was in the late 1800s and early 1900s so we invite them to visit and learn the history of this now small community and the importance of our loved local historical icon, the Clifton School of Arts.”
The CSA Inc AGM will be held Saturday 11 August 2018 from 10am and visitors are welcome to sit in and learn how the CSA is progressing.
