An exhibition opens in Wollongong tomorrow (Friday Thursday August 6), celebrating the work of local artists as they share their creations which are based on these interesting times.
Nine local artists and poets, reflect on their collaboration with their families, homes, lives, love and–best of all–their own selves.
Organiser Greer Harris say the exhibition is a snapshot, a flash of insight as though through a window of a speeding car or train. “The artists explore topics of the feminine, their place in our environment, their personal relations and their experiences with the world, both physical and spiritual,” she says. “They work in painting, drawing, photography, textiles, sculpture and sound installations. And it’s through these mediums that they cherish their friends, families, and lovers.”
