Pack your picnic blankets for the free family movie night in Thirroul on Saturday November 3.
Horizon Credit Union has teamed up with Wollongong City Council to screen Moana on the big screen at Thirroul Beach Reserve.
“Our Finding Dory moonlight movie earlier this year was a huge success,” says Thirroul Branch Manager Julie Markham. “We had a great turn-out of families who all really enjoyed the unique experience of a picnic and moonlight movie we’ve decided to do it again.
“We’re expecting the same positive response with our upcoming movie night screening of Moana.”
The much-loved family film follows Moana, a strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village, who travels across the seas to reunite a goddess with her ‘heart’. As part of her journey, she meets Maui, a legendary trickster, who is needed to help her complete her voyage. The animated film features the voices of Dwayne Johnson and Jemaine Clement, and it’s catchy soundtrack features songs including How Far I’ll Go, You’re Welcome and Shiny.
The movie is FREE, plus there’ll be free face painting and other activities for the kids to enjoy prior to the movie screening.
All are welcome to come along and enjoy this local community event.
The gate will open at 6pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and Moana will begin at sunset – 7.30pm.
Hearing loops and/or headphones are also available for people who need them, and can be booked via Council’s Events team on (02) 4227 7111.
