The Northern Illawarra is home to an acclaimed group of Freerunners and it’s this group that will headline at the upcoming Parkour Competition at Burgh in Helensburgh.
Parkour or Freerunning is quickly becoming the next big thing as the participants move through obstacles at a fast pace by running, jumping, climbing and vaulting.

Last year’s event saw more than 600 people from as far away as Canberra showcase their unique talent, and this year, the event promises to be bigger and better!
This year the event has expanded, hosting five divisions plus an advanced final in the advanced category, with competitions in Parkour/Freerunning and Speed Run.
This years BURGH Parkour event will also feature guest judge, Dominic Di Tommaso, an international sponsored Red Bull parkour athlete.
Organisers say Red Bull will also be present on the day with their Wingsteam.
“The students at Burgh Healthy Hub have grown passionate about this sport,” says event coordinator Mandy, ” and this event gives them a thrilling platform to showcase their skills and compete at a professional level,
“Our own local talent is growing by the minute especially with our core group of Jesse, Declan, Tom & Owen, who make up Renegade.”
The competition is open to contestants from 7yrs of age through to adult.
Food stalls, skills display, merchandise and half-time entertainment will also be there on the day.
