Wollongong City Council is running a free 10 week program – to help local women become funnier!
The Women Out Loud program is based on storytelling using the medium of comedy. Tutors will provide mentoring in performance and comedy with the opportunity to perform at open mic nights and Viva la Gong.
Wollongong City Council’s Cultural Development Coordinator, Megan Mckell says “The Women Out Loud” program will encourage women to tell their stories in a safe and encouraging environment. It’s a great way for women to come together and express themselves in their own unique way.
No experience is needed- just an open mind and the courage to push yourself outside your comfort zone. Participants have to be over 18 years old.
There are 12 available positions. The program will take place once a week from 28 August until 11 November at Lower Town Hall in Wollongong.
