An event is being held in Wollongong this Friday, October 26, to recognise lives lost in Australia to intentional self harm.
That number is on the increase with eight people a day taking their own lives and another twenty trying.
United in Light will take place at North Wollongong beach at six pm, with one glow stick lit and inserted in the sand to represent each Australian life lost, creating a ‘picture of light’.
This free event aims to ignite a conversation about mental health.
A counsellor will be present on the night.
