Dr Jemima Grant
A skin care clinic with a difference has opened in Thirroul.
Thrive is a beautiful space in a beautiful building, specialising in evidence-based skin care, to keep YOU beautiful!
Owner Dr Jemima Grant has been a general practitioner (GP) working locally for ten years. Always fascinated with skin, ( and witnessing the ageing process first-hand) she set about discovering the skin care products and treatments that actually make a difference.
“As a doctor, people are always asking me what works best,” says Jemima. “I have done a LOT of research and found there is an intersection between medicine and beauty.
“At Thrive we only sell products that have been proven to work,” she says. “There is hard evidence to show they have a positive effect on your skin.”
“The whole field of beauty can be a bit of a minefield,” she says. “Its unregulated- so in many cases, for example, procedures involving injectables can be unsafe. We use our formal, medical training to approach every treatment from a medical perspective.
“Women spend so much money on products, relying solely on the blurb on the box. My medical/science background means we only provide products and treatments which actually have evidence-based results.”
“Here at Thrive, we focus on a holistic treatment plan,” says Jemima. “We have clear goals and we promote and skin health. As a medical practitioner , I am able to provide total holistic of care- I can biopsy suspicious skin lesions, manage acne with medications and hormonal treatment options, assess and manage conditions such as hormonal imbalances, weight problems and lifestyle issues. And I can do it all in our lovely clinic. You don’t have to go anywhere else!”
If the team at Thrive cannot treat your condition, Jemima can refer you directly to a specialist. “I have been a GP in the Illawarra for 15 years,” she says, “so I know the best people to refer you to.”
And Jemima says there is no upselling at Thrive. “Anyone who has had fillers or injectables knows it is tempting to have a few more that you planned. “We just match your budget with what you want to achieve,” she says, “using products that are proven to work!”
“Thrive is a genuine boutique service,” she says. “We are passionate, experienced professionals. We offer individualised, multi- disciplinary care, in a safe and beautiful environment. We are discrete and actively encourage a natural aesthetic if our clients have injectable treatment.
“We are not a franchise led by commission based sales, in fact, many of our clients are surprised to find our treatments actually cost less than the big clinics because we only put in what you need!
And Jemima’s secrets to staying young… “Use evidence-based skin care,” she says. “Exercise, eat well, don’t smoke. Wear sunscreen every day, and have a peel once a month.”
