Turns out the people of the Northern Illawarra love their bread.
The new bakery in Austinmer’s Moore Street- The Bread Circle- is going great guns.
Baker Daniel Watts says they’re currently producing 100 loaves a week, most of which are made from grains he’s ground himself!
“I source the grain from a farm in the Riverena, which supplies us with both ancient and modern varieties of wheat,” says Dan. “It makes for a better quality bread. Currently our bread is available at Earth Walker and Flame Tree Co-op in Thirroul but eventually I’d like my own shopfront.
“I love going work in Austinmer. It’s a lovely community and my friends and family can just pop in. I wake up stoked about going to work!”
