Neighbourhood Forum 1 is a community group independent from Wollongong City Council and is recognised as the voice of the 2508 region. Neville Bussa is the elected convenor of the group, and has launched a campaign to get more Council funds directed into the Helensburgh / Stanwell Park area.
“For a long time, the 2508 area has missed out on council spending our hard earned rates, in our area.” says Neville, “It’s now time to speak up and let council know we are not happy, and that we want things to happen locally in this area.”
“Neighbourhood Forum 1 is banding together to drive council and our four, ward 1 councillors toward the support our local community, by spending money here on basic services that are long overdue (such as kerb and guttering, adequate parking, a safe park for our children to play in, etc). This is only a few that come to mind, so now is the time to tell us what you think is important.”
The deadline for submissions for consideration in next years Council budget is end of April 2013 – the voting process will occur in two stages…
STAGE 1 – Suggest a topic
STAGE 2 – Vote for the topics submitted by the community
This will happen in the next couple of weeks – anyone who has submitted a topic will be contacted by email to inform them when voting is open.
“We need the locals to support us in getting a fair go for our area – just go to www.nf1.com.au to suggest a topic for what our community needs.”
