Recent large swells and high tides have dumped a lot of seaweed in and around our ocean pools- with large piles also surrounding Austinmer pool.
Council says the movement of seaweed is ‘part of large dynamic natural system’, but they’re aware the weed is there- and it will be gone by the end of the week.
“All rock pools such as Austinmer will be affected from time to time,” says a Council spokesperson.
“Council’s rock pool cleaning crew investigate all nine rock pools and schedule cleaning on a regular basis.
“The work at Austinmer rock pools will be scheduled early this week.”
Council says all ocean pools are inspected regularly.
