Once a year, the local community along the Sea Cliff Coast come together to celebrate Anzac Day – the Coledale RSL will be hosting a BBQ breakfast after the Anzac Day dawn service on Thursday, April 25 – all are invited (gold coin donation).
Muster will be at 5.50am Coledale Newsagency for a short march to the Club led by the Colour Guard, Pipers & Sub Branch followed by Coledale & Scarborough Public Schools & Local Service organisations & any others who wish to march.
On arrival at the Club the Colour Guard will take up position for the service. Addresses will be given, then the Ode, Last Post & Flag Ceremony. Reville will be played followed by the evening hym, National anthem & wreath laying.
At Austinmer, those attending the dawn service should gather in the beach carpark at 5.45am. The service will be held at 6am and the Thirroul Bowling Club will host a traditional Anzac breakfast afterwards from 6:30am.
A Dawn Service will also be conducted at the Helensburgh War Memorial in Charles Harper Park and there will be a service at Stanwell Tops at 10am.
For anyone looking for a dabble, 2UP will be held at Coledale RSL, Thirroul Bowling Club and Helensburgh Workers Club from 1pm to 5pm.
