Austinmer comes alive this week because Summeriest has hit town!
It’s been put together by Austi Anglican church in collaboration with local businesses and artists, in support of SCARF Illawarra.
SCARF is a community group providing assistance to refugee families.
Wednesday January 20th sees a Family Movie Under the Stars, with the screening of Paper Planes from 7pm. Bring your own beanbags and blankets and settle in for a night of beach games, entertainment and a paper-plane competition, followed by a screening of the Aussie film. Hot Dogs, gelato and popcorn will be available, and a collection will be taken up for SCARF.
Then Friday, Austi Beach Park will come alive with an awesome line up of local talent. Shining Bird will play, alongside Kay Proudlove, Taylor Davis and Jordan Ireland. You can grab a bite from one of the many international food stalls, in collaboration wth SCARF, supported by Syrian and Burmese refugee families.
Sunday will once again see Church at the Beach starting from 6pm.
