Thirroul filmmaker Peter Haynes has taken out the ‘Filmbreaker Award’ for best rookie at the Smartfone Flick Fest held at Sydney’s Event Cinemas.
Pete’s film “Breakable’ tells the story of a young man wrestling with social pressures and stars Austinmer local Sandon Groves.
‘Breakable’ was one of hundreds of Australian and International films entered in the competition, all of them made on smartphones.
The film is now in the running for the People’s Choice award, which will be announced later this month.
