According to a figures released by the State Government’s Community Justice Centres, animals, mostly barking dogs, account for more than half of all noise disputes between neighbours.
The Centre says the top five causes of complaint are:-
- Animals (mostly barking dogs)
- People (children, visitors and party guests)
- Motor vehicles
- Machinery (including air conditioners)
The Community Justice Centre is a free State Government mediation service.
More than 80% of Community Justice Centre mediations achieved a resolution.
