More than 90 talented young musicians from the South Coast and the Illawarra will gather at Stanwell Tops next week for the South Coast Music Camp.
The camp aims to give experienced student musicians and vocalists the chance to enhance their skills through working with similarly talented peers under the tutelage of music teachers, tutors and industry professionals.
It’s the second such camp for The Tops Conference Centre, which also hosts the independent schools HICES music camp, drawing students from across the State to prepare them for a concert at Sydney Town Hall.
Next week’s camp is for public school students.
Camp co-ordinator Kylie Morgan says there will be a strong emphasis on improving musical expertise and performance. “The final concert will be held at The Tops on Thursday evening,” she says. “It will be run with professional sound, lighting and staging and will include vocal and musical ensembles, as well as a concert band, a dance workshops and even a ukulele performance!”
The Thursday concert is open to the public.
