The man wanted for an assault at Balgownie yesterday morning has been found dead at a home at Coalcliff overnight.
27 year old James Uhr allegedly stole a ute from a Cringilla Service Station before ramming a number of vehicles.
Police believe the man then went to his mother’s home in Balgownie, she drove away before he rammed her car onto the footpath.
Police say the man then punched his mother in the head and mouth. She has been hospitalised with facial injuries and is in a serious condition.
The man then stole a car owned by a bystander and escaped.
Then around 7.15pm last night, a Coalcliff home owner found the man’s body at the rear of his property.
The stolen car was found nearby and has been seized for forensic examinations.
A report is being prepared for the coroner but the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
