It’s all about refusing and re-thinking single use plastic bags.
The idea behind Boomerang Bags, is that they will be placed in shops within the community so that when a customer forgets their own reusable shopping bag – they ‘borrow’ the boomerang bag (and return it to the shop next visit).
“We will be asking the local schools, Preschools and community groups to get involved in the making of the bags.” said Susie Crick from Surfrider South Coast, “For those who can’t sew, we ask if they have any fabric, curtains, tablecloths, threads etc, to donate that can be used to make the bags”
“This will be a community effort where we all get involved in the idea of refusing single use plastic bags. We would really love you to get involved.”
