Busses will replace all Illawarra trains from 2am tonight until 2am Monday morning and then again next weekend (July 2-4).
We can also expect a bit of noise along the railway corridor in the early hours this weekend as Transport NSW carries out track reconditioning and rail grinding as well as routine maintenance and vegetation, litter and graffiti removal.
Helensburgh and Austinmer stations will also get a bit of a makeover.
But all that work means noisy heavy machinery!
Due to travel restrictions, some of this machinery will be delivered at night, which will also be noisy, and diesel work trains will be kept on site and Transport NSW says they may be idling for extended periods.
Heavy vehicles will use local streets to access the rail corridor, and traffic controllers will be on hand wherever they’re needed.
During the work period, some level crossings may be affected, including Clifton.
And if you were planning to take the train this weekend, allow plenty of extra travel time!
