Treehouse Landscapes and Handshapes is best described as a local business dedicated to the outdoor pursuits of surfing and gardening. Design, innovation and craftsmanship are central to the identity and future direction.
Since officially launching at Finbox Boardstore in Thirroul in 2013, highlights for the year have included the increasing number of local surfers approaching us for one-off custom surfboards and securing a contract with Sutherland Shire Council to design the first three art installations for The Cronulla Esplanade Surfboard Walk.
“We’ve worked with local and Sydney clients to deliver a number of innovative garden designs and are closer to launching the first of our modular kitchen garden products.”said Dave Porter, founder of the business.
“We finally have a space of our own at 2 Molloy Street Bulli in a development that will be called Timbermill Studios and house a number of artists, designers and creative businesses.”
“At our new location we have a showroom and two modern surfboard shaping bays. A bay is available to amateur shapers and we are hoping to launch a range of short courses in the future.”
“We also operate a subsidiary business from this location called ‘Resin & Glass’ which offers professional polyester and epoxy fibreglassing services to amateur and professional surfboard shapers and offers surfboard repairs to the general public.”
On Saturday the 5th of October from 5pm, Treehouse Landscapes and Handshapes will be launched. The Studio will be open with boards, t-shirts and garden products for sale. There will be a complimentary BBQ, surf films, art by Simon Perini, Aaron Hughes and Keiron Lewis and a music Jam Session for anyone who wants to get involved.
