Council has addressed safety concerns from the community who fear a Bulli Park is being neglected by Wollongong Council.
Residents contacted Northern Illawarra saying Dobbins Park is in a dreadful state and children can no longer use this valuable community space. They say it is dangerous and overgrown, and remains unusable.
“What the park really needs is an overhaul,” says local resident Shelly. “It needs new play equipment, and something should be done about the overgrowth of vegetation.
“Our calls have prompted Council to erect some red tape across a damaged chair and part of a large branch has been removed, but the park still needs some work!”
A spokesman for Wollongong Council says they’ve now responded to these complaints. They say work crews have now attended the park and removed the timber edging that was damaged by the vandals.
