This Sunday sees Heat One of the 10th Annual Miss Northern Beaches Quest at Beaches Hotel in Thirroul.
Around a dozen girls will line up for each of the three heats, with the top four progressing to the final with the chance to be named Miss Northern Beaches 2016, and take home $2000 in prize money.
Second place receives $600 and third $400, as well as a selection of prizes from sponsors.
Organiser Caleigh says she instigated the competition back in 2006 when she was manager of the hotel. “It’s open to everyone from 17 and up,” she says. “We have girls coming from everywhere to take part, with entrants right up to 35 year olds, and some girls have so much fun they keep coming back. “
Judged by sponsors, the event has two sections, firstly ‘Hot Summer Nights’, where the girls are judged on their outfit, their style and how they hold themselves on stage. The second is ‘Bikini’, which speaks for itself.
The event is always lots of fun and never fails to draw a crowd. To be part of the action, head on down to Beaches from 5pm. If you want to enter, you should probably get there a little earlier!
