The Helensburgh Lions Club has a long history of community service in the 2508 area, comprised of a small group of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that there are always funds available to assist local causes and projects.
About 7 years ago, the Lions Club raised funds and constructed the Helensburgh Community Sign, located on the busy thoroughfare of Parkes St near the Old Princes Highway, which has successfully served local groups and clubs in the promotion of their events, but the sign now requires an upgrade.
Until recently, the signage option that worked very well as a low cost, reusable solution, was large laminated posters, that were installed on the sign, usually staying in place for at least 2 weeks, and then being placed into storage – this worked well, but since then, the printing costs have doubled which has prompted a reevaluation of this service.
The most sustainable solution available is a digital display, as seen in the artists impression above, which has many benefits including…
- Greater flexibility (allowing multiple advertisers to use the sign at the same time)
- Easier to read at a glance (high visibility LED signage)
- Lower cost to run and maintain (the spotlight adjacent to the sign can be decommissioned)
- Reduces waste (no need to use any laminated panels)
The best part of this solution is that it then provides FREE advertising for local community and sports groups, 24 hours a day, all year round. There will also be low cost advertising options for local businesses.
All money that is raised from this advertising is channeled back into local Lions Club projects.
