This Sunday is Father’s Day and this year it’s going to be super special for local dads.
Locals are being encouraged to take their Dad’s for a coffee this weekend at Cucina or Seafoam Cafes in Thirroul
, write them a message, and enjoy time together as part of the ‘Message for Dad’ campaign.
‘Message for Dad’s’ is an initiative of Austinmer Anglican Church which seeks to encourage and inspire fathers.
“We believe good fathering is important for healthy families, and a healthy community,” says Rev Steve Dinning.
“Being a Father is a daunting challenge, a weighty responsibility and a rewarding privilege,” he says. “This campaign has the simple aim to inspire Dads and Grandads to bear the challenge, carry the responsibility and enjoy the ride.”
The campaign will be launched this Friday from 6.30pm at Thirroul Railway Station, when commuters are handed a free newspaper and a coffee from Seafoam Cafe
