As we head into the warmer months, with very little rain over winter, the threat of bushfire is real.
The Rural Fire Service is using this coming weekend (September 16) to ensure everyone is aware of the dangers, and is encouraging us to make a plan, in case a fire heads our way.
“Take this weekend to have this simple discussion and get more information at the Rural Fire Service’s “Get Ready” Weekend,” says a Helensburgh RFS spokesman. “Crews will be just behind the Tradies Helensburgh from 11am with free plans, activities for the kids, trucks to explore, demostrations and more.
Follow Helensburgh RFS Facebook page for more information closer to the day
Crews will also be at Austinmer Beach on Saturday between 10am and 2pm offering advice on preparing for the coming bushfire season.
