The festival is not only about the art prize, there are chances for exhibition and sale of work in the Art in the Shops section of the festival. This section usually runs one week before and one week after the festival but because of Easter this year it will run two weeks before and one week after.
The festival has many other sections, including Sculpture at the Shore at Thirroul Beach and the Art Alive section in Jackson Park and along Lawrence Hargrave Drive. In Art Alive artists will demonstrate their skills to the public – artists may sell their work – but the primary purpose of this section is to demonstrate.
