On the eve of the full moon this month comes the launch of a new venture from Glenbernie Orchard called Darkes Cider and their first offering promises to fulfill the most jaded beer drinkers dreams with something at first sweet, but with a bit of bite… prepare yourself for “Howler”.
“I’m really excited because this Friday we are launching our new cider” said Joanne Fahey, from Glenbernie Orchard, “We have great apples on our farm, so we thought, why don’t we have a go at making cider, and making something that is better quality product then some of the others that are available that are imported.”
“Howler has beautiful, crisp apple flavours – when you drink it you get a sweetness, and then you get the apple flavour, and then you get the tannins kick in, because we’ve used a lot of red apple in it. It’s got just the right amount of sweetness, but it’s also got a bite.”
The launch of Howler from Darkes Cider is a VIP only event to be held at Glenbernie Orchard on Friday 15th November from 7pm which will feature entertainment from local favourites, Beaten Bodies.
