Have you had your say on the future of Helensburgh Library?
Council has started an engagement process because they want to know what the locals really want.
“This is a long term project,” says Libraries and Community Facilities manager Jan Nobel. “And this engagement is the first step in a long process.
“No decisions have been made in regards to what Helensburgh’s library of the future might look like or offer. It’s exciting to be taking this first step and to hear exactly what the community would like.”
However Ms Nobel says Helensburgh will not be getting a new facility overnight.
“This is a plan for the future,” she says. “Right now we have the budget to carry out this first step of engagement. Further funds will be sought through future capital allocations and by taking this step, it puts Council in the position to chase funding or grants should any become available.
Feedback closes on March 31. Hard copies are available at Helensburgh Library or you can do the survey online at www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au
