There will be more Hazard reduction burning in the Northern Illawarra this coming weekend, Saturday May 28.
The Rural Fire Service will carry out controlled burning behind the properties in Annesley Rd at Stanwell Tops.
Around 60 members of the RFS will be in attendance at the burn, which is expected to start in the morning and continue well into the evening.
The Illawarra Community Safety Brigade will also be in attendance, at the corner of Stirling Street and Annesley Avenue from 10am.
Acting Illawarra District Manager Superintendent Greg Wardle says the controlled burn will help protect properties in the Stanwell Tops area and will help firefighters control future bushfires in the area.
Residents in the Stanwell Tops area are advised to keep doors and windows closed, remove washing from the line, and make sure pets are safe.
