Wollongong City Council is still working on the long-term plan for Helensburgh Town Centre, however, in the meantime, they’ve decided to give the area bit of a touch-up.
Following feedback from the community, Council has identified some key areas for maintenance, which will be carried out before the final plan is sorted.
“We will be addressing some of the trip hazards and tidying up landscaping.,” says a Council spokesman. “The priority is to bring in more natural light and improve visibility when crossing the road.
“Hard to mow turf on the roundabout will be replaced with low maintenance planting, and planter boxes along Walker Street will get a boost with new plants.”
Maintenance crews will be out and about in Helensburgh over the coming months. Meanwhile, you can keep up to date with the Helensburgh Town Centre Plan project at www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au
