Helensburgh Pool will be closed for a fortnight from October 29 as Wollongong Council carries out urgent repairs.
Investigations show the pool’s water supply line has failed so the water isn’t circulating as it should be.
Council’s director of Community Services Kylie Cowgill says while Council regrets this has happened so early in the swimming season, the pool should be operational well before summer begins.
“Our staff are contacting stakeholders who use the pool for swim coaching and other activities and we will do everything we can to assist them,” she says. “The community is encouraged to use the supervised pool at Thirroul or one of the area’s many rock pools or beaches during the closure.”
