Have you heard about the women of Circus WOW? Sea Cliff Coasters now have the chance to join the circus…. without leaving everything behind. Circus WOW (Women of Wollongong), now offers a series of circus classes for women at venues across the Illawarra including Helensburgh and Woonona.
The program, designed by Ellen de Jong, is vibrant, fresh, and diverse, and covers wide range of skills from Hula Hoops, to Aerial Silks and Trapeze, Tightwire and Acro.
“WOW wants to give all women in the area the opportunity to discover circus in a friendly, and safe environment, and to experience the WOW spirit.” says Ellen de Jong, “Our trainers and methods focus on fun, interaction, creativity and safety.”
“The Helensburgh area is full of young vibrant mums looking for local activities for their kids and themselves.” says Otford resident, Gaetane Potard, “The way WOW teaches circus is fun and empowering. You often think that circus in unacessible, but you rapidely discover that, one apparatus at a time, your can also be part of it. WOW is for kids but also for any women. The thursday evening class would be a great opportunity for new mums to take some time out, and they’ll come back home with a lot of new tricks.’
WOWs new term starts on Monday 29th of April at Helensburgh, kicking off with Handstand classes. Also on Monday, there will be Hula Hoops, and Aerial Silk Skills classes in Woonona. Hoops gets you moving and laughing, and silks gets you climbing, learning wraps and exciting drops!
The best part is, you don’t need to be a former gymnast to do it. Circus WOW has developed a program to support every woman to find her own inner big-top performer.
