A man has been charged with serious offences following a home invasion at Coledale in the early hours of this morning that’s seen a woman threatened at knifepoint.
Police allege a man aged in his 20s broke into the rear of the home in Squires Crescent and took several items while arming himself with a knife.
The man is then said to have entered the bedroom where the woman was sleeping. Police say he held the knife to the woman’s throat and demanded her mobile phone and money.
There were two quick-thinking children, both aged under 10, in the house at the time. They’ve dialled Triple Zero and police were not far away.
Officers arrived a short time later and say they saw the man holding the knife to the woman’s throat. He ran from the home and was found a short time later hiding in the back seat of a car parked across the road.
Police say the Campbelltown man has been charged with aggravated break and enter and robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.
