Now in its 27th year is the three day Illawarra Jazz Festival, featuring a swag of local and international artists, this weekend in Corrimal, on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May.
“This is the first year it has not been during Easter, and not in Wollongong City” says Doreen Lee, president of the Illawarra Jazz Club, “We have relocated to Corrimal Hotel, as they have been supporting us for the past 18 months with a regular jazz event.”
“It is a terrific weekend of entertainment and we are looking forward to all the bands, who will be playing both downstairs and upstairs at the hotel, but some notable inclusions this year are Shirazz, who are a new young modern trad jazz band from Melbourne, Galapagos Duck, Miho Wada’s Jazz Orchestra from New Zealand, and the tribute to Duke Ellington and Etta James.”
The event will be opened by Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbury on Friday at 5pm with the lord mayor, and the Saturday and Sunday entertainment starts from 11:30am until 12am and 7pm respectively, with wine tasting on both days.
