The Northern Illawarra Chamber of Commerce is heading south!
This Tuesday (May 3) the Chamber will meet at Thirroul Community Centre, to make it easier for businesses in 2515 to be a part of the organisation.
President Greg Watts says over the years, the organisation has simply floated up the hill.
“We used to meet at the Austinmer Bowling Club,’ he says. “But when that closed, we shifted to Helensburgh, and so lost a lot of members from the southern end of the region.
“We really want to attract more members from right across the Northern Illawarra, so will hold this Mix at Six, to give people from Thirroul, Austinmer and Coledale the chance to pop in for a chat.”
Greg says membership of the Chamber means a fantastic opportunity to network with other local businesspeople.
“We are a voice for small business,” he says. “And the more members we have, the stronger we are. We have strong connections with Council, with the State Government and Parliamentary Secretary Gareth Ward, and with Destination Wollongong, as well as the police force.
“And we are about to launch our new website, which aims to compliment and support local small business. Being a member gives us a collective voice.”
In order to encourage new members, the Northern Illawarra Chamber of Commerce is also offering a $99 membership deal.
As an added bonus, membership of the Northern Illawarra Chamber of Commerce gives you automatic membership to the NSW Business Camber and all it’s supporting functions.
Mix at Six will run from 6pm-8pm in the Escarpment room at Thirroul Community Centre. It’s a free event.
