Here’s a great Christmas gift idea for anyone who loves food.
The Illawarra Cookbook will be launched next week.
It is a hard-cover, high quality book, filled with recipes from local restaurants, bars and cafes, including Earth Walker in Coledale, South Sailor, Samuels, The Postmans and The Scarborough Hotel, as well as other great venues south to Gerringong.
It also includes local food producers such as The Pines Dairy, Green Connect and Buena Vista Farm, and is accompanied by a series of podcasts featuring the chefs involved in the creation of the book!
The book is the brainchild of Stefan Posthuma’s Quicksand Food, and they’re keen to shine the spotlight on our incredible food culture.
Stefan studied at Wollongong Uni and has since returned to immerse himself all the Illawarra has to offer.
“Food is my passion,” he says. “The Illawarra has a tight-knit food community that has really blossomed in the last few years. I want to showcase all the fabulous places that are driving the region’s increasingly modern, yet locally focussed- culinary landscape.”
