This Thursday night (December 7) gives you a fantastic opportunity to stock up on Christmas presents AND contribute to a string of fantastic charities. It’s the sixth annual Twilight markets at Helensburgh’s Sunrise Nursery.
Organiser Gina Krohn says the night will be full of fantastic food, lovely handmade gift ideas, and loads of your friends and neighbours!
“Our fingers are crossed for good weather,” says Gina, who has enlisted the aid of Otford Public School and the local Rural Fire Service to help feed the crowds. ‘Lime Leaf cafe will also be providing delicious food, with entertainment including Otford Public School choir.”
Gina says money raised will go to a few of the less mainstream charities.
“Every year we donate to a few worthy causes. Last year it was to a horse-rescue farm in California who looked after a badly-mistreated horse they’d found in Mexico! This year we’re giving to Mercy Ships, which are hospital ships which sail the African coast, some money will go to Soi Dogs, some will go to the Lions Club education fund, which sponsors children to go to High School in Uganda, and some to the Dunlee Centre, which is the old Boystown, to buy some new sports equipment.
“We’d love people to come along, do some Christmas Shopping, meet up with friends, enjoy a meal and throw in a few dollars to charity,” she says.
“We’d also love it if you’d car pool because parking can be a bit tricky on the night!”
The markets will run at Sunrise Nursery from 4pm-8pm on Thursday December 7.
