With a long weekend coming up, residents are encouraged to drop down to the massive winter plant sale at the Botanic Garden this Saturday.
The winter plant sale at the garden’s Greenplan Nursery will offer more than 13,000 native trees, shrubs, ground covers and grasses, plus a number of exotic species.
Qualified horticulturists and Friends of Wollongong Botanic Garden volunteers will be on hand to give advice on plant selection. The Nursery also has worm farms and compost bins available for sale for those wanting to take another step towards improving their sustainability at home.
The plant sale will start at 7.30am on Saturday and will run to 2.30pm with residents reminded to bring their Wollongong City Council rates notice as proof of residency to the sale.
This is the last seasonal sale to be held on a Saturday, with the sales moving to Fridays from Spring.
