Around 40 people have turned out to last night’s meeting in Thirroul to discuss a solution to Thirroul’s traffic woes.
The workshop has been hosted by Wollongong Council’s Community Engagement team, which included local Councillor Cath Blakely. Thirroul Transport Committee was also represented.
Information is to be passed to the RMS, which is ultimately responsible for Lawrence Hargrave Drive.
Large maps of the area were displayed so suggestions could be made via post-it notes.
Local resident Erin O’Dwyer has been lobbying for construction of a pedestrian crossing near Henley Rd. Erin attended the meeting and said the outcome was promising.
