Applications are now open for Wollongong City Council’s Financial Assistance program.
The program supports a range of community-based activities and events including Small Cultural Grants, Sponsorship of Community Events and Contribution to Bands and Choirs.
The Small Cultural Grants program is open to community arts organisations and Not For Profit groups in the Wollongong Local Government Area that support music, performing arts, visual arts, crafts and other cultural initiatives.
Organisations can apply for grants up to $4,000 under this program.
The program is open to organisers of community events that demonstrate a benefit to our community.
Community groups can apply for grants up to $15,000. Events can include city-wide events, general community events and sporting events of state or national significance.
Community-based, Not For Profit bands and choirs are encouraged to apply for Contribution to Public Bands and Choirs grants. Grants up to $2,000 are part of this program. Group membership must be open to the community. School bands and choirs are not eligible.
Wollongong City Lord Mayor Cr Gordon Bradbery says the program has been running for a decade.”It’s great to see the events and groups that have benefitted from this finding,” he says. “Each year we provide funds to wonderful community events and programs including Wonderwall, NAIDOC Week and Honk Oz, all of which contribute to the city’s vibrancy and continued cultural growth.”
Information and application details for NAIDOC Week events are now available Council’swebsite.
As part of the program, Council also offers a Ward-Based Arts Grant, where applicants can apply for up to $22,500 towards an arts project.
Applications are open until Saturday 31 March 2018.
