A special music concert will be held this Saturday 29th June at the Bushland Chapel, Helensburgh. The program features the soulful jazz/blues voice and piano of Belle Robinson, the artistry of contemporary electric violinist Jane Aubourg and the groove tunes of the new, larger BlueSaltBand. Also, there will be a guest performance by Steve Goldrick playing some classical numbers and special new folk songs. There could also be one or two extra surprises on the night.
Stanwell Tops resident Peter Thomas helped organise this event. “We had a concert at the chapel earlier this year and just had to do it again. The acoustics are great – it is an ideal space for live music.”
Peter will feature in the program with his BlueSaltBand, and hopes to organise another concert in August. “We are happy to receive enquiries from other artists who might like to appear. We would love to include dance, comedy, poetry, even theatre, as well as music.”
The chapel is the perfect, intimate venue for a concert such as this, and has been a venue for music and performance events in the past. Tickets ($15 and $10, $40 family) are limited. The Bushland Chapel is located at 94 Parkes Street Helensburgh.
