Roadwork will close Lawrence Hargrave Drive from Stanwell Park to Stanwell Tops tonight and every night until Thursday morning as the Roads and Maritime Services carries out stabilisation work.
A spokesman for the RMS says the essential maintenance work involves removing trees and hazardous rocks as well as investigating future slope stabilisation. “This work will require the closure of Lawrence Hargrave Drive between Railway Crescent and Stonehaven Road between 8pm and 4am from Sunday 25 to Wednesday 28 March, weather permitting,” he says.
“The road will be closed in both directions and detours will be in place via M1 Princes Motorway, Bulli Pass and Lawrence Hargrave Drive.
“Residents of Stanwell Park should enter and exit from the Stanwell Park end of the closure and at Stanwell Tops residents should use the Helensburgh end of the closure.
“There will be no access for motorists or pedestrians through the work area during work hours.
“Roads and Maritime will be working with Endeavour Energy to remove trees near power lines during this work. Endeavour Energy will contact residents regarding any impacts.”
There will be some noise and lighting associated with this work. Work on Monday night will require noisy machinery including chainsaws and mulching equipment.
