Going to the dentist is now more enjoyable, following the opening of Miriam Groves Dental in Thirroul.
After 20 years at a surgery in Balgownie, the popular local has set up shop closer to her Austinmer home, and is loving every minute of it.
A long-term resident of the Northern Illawarra, Miriam and her husband Mark have raised their two boys here, and are firmly integrated into the local community.
In fact, husband Mark is responsible for the fit-out of what must surely be one of Australia’s most stylish dental surgeries.
“We are blessed to have been able to design the practice from the ground up,” says Dr Groves. “Everything from the colour and layout of the practice to the type of equipment we use. It’s all been hand-picked and we are incredibly happy with the result. It’s a lovely place to work and a calming and relaxing environment for patients.
An art-lover, Miriam uses the walls of her surgery as a gallery, displaying the works of local artists, with a new artists about to come on board this week.”I have really enjoyed having Jennifer Jackson’s work here and will be sad to see them go,” she says. “But we are looking forward to having the works of Christine Hill.”
But first and foremost, the experienced team is proud to provide quality dental care.”It’s so important to take the time patients and procedures require, and we use state-of-the-art equipment and sterilisation procedures,” says Miriam. “Some patients do need a little ‘TLC’!”
Miriam Groves Dental offers all aspects of dentistry including implants, cosmetic dentistry, bleaching and gentle preventative care for the whole family.
The practice has been so successful, Miriam is already taking on extra staff with Dr Anna Clark starting on Wednesdays next month.
Anna is particularly focussed on preventative dentistry. “I love all aspects of dentistry and enjoy treating children,” she says. Anna also has experience treating snoring and sleep apnoea, which is an emerging field in dentistry.
But it’s the attention to detail that sets this surgery apart. “We pay special attention and do things properly, taking time to explain what’s going on,” says Miriam. “It’s important for Anna and I to build trusting relationships with patients so we can help with their long-term dental care. We are fussy and there is no cutting corners!”
“I am so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community,” says Miriam, “in such a beautiful location, and to help locals feel happy with their smile and improve their long-term oral health!”
