The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service has said they will not be buying the old Bingo site at Helensburgh.
Calls have been made by community members to have the land acquired by the State Government and added to the National Park.
The Office of Environment and Heritage passed the mater toe NPWS which has responded, saying owing to limited funds available for acquisitions, they will not be looking at the Helensburgh site.
“Our highest priority purchases focus on land that has a relatively high proportion of intact native vegetation,” says a spokesperson. “in relatively good condition.”
“At an asking price of $5 million, the property on Walker street does not meet this criteria.”
