A sea of green is expected to flood the coastline between Bulli and Thirroul this Sunday 21st September, at the inaugural Community Dog Walk hosted by the Illawarra dog community.
Hundreds of supporters, including local residents, visitors and their dogs, are anticipated to join in a demonstration of opposition against Wollongong City Council’s proposed radical changes to its Dogs on Beaches and Parks Policy.
Participants will meet near Sandon Point car park (Bulli) at 9.15am sharp, with the walk commencing at 9.30am. Walkers, with their dogs on leads, will be guided by marshals along a route to McCauley’s Beach (Thirroul) and then back to Sandon Point.
Dogs and their human counterparts are encouraged to wear green – the Illawarra Dog Community’s campaign colour. Adults and children’s tshirts, along with green dog bandannas will be available to purchase (cash only).
