The face of Thirroul is set to change yet again.
The iconic, ivy-covered building on Lawrence Hargrave Drive just north of the Post Office will be auctioned this weekend and it’s in such a poor state of repair, it would take a brave soul to consider renovation!
Legend has it the building (which is surprisingly large on they inside) was the local pool hall back in the day, with the owner also a bookmaker, running a tidy little business from the centre of town.
It has two kitchens and what feels like 10 bedrooms, the house is actually really charming. And weirdly, boasts a different floor covering in every room, including great floral carpet and some pretty interesting old lino! It also has a large, leafy backyard.
Regardless of its ‘quirks’ the home is in a fantastic position, just on the fringe of town, and according to local agent Kristine Morgan of McGraths, interest has been high.
The home will be auctioned at Midday on Saturday.
