Exciting news for Northern Illawarra pizza lovers. We are back on the grid!
Since the demise of Ace’s in Coledale earlier this year (or was it late last year?) there has been no pizza delivery service to the north.
Even Dominos at Woonona refuses to deliver further than Austinmer, citing quality control issues.
Sensing a need, fine dining restaurant Chedos is now offering gourmet pizzas delivered straight to your door.
Elicia has owned the Coledale restaurant for three and a half years, but worked there for several years before, while studying at University.
“I graduated and worked in mining,” she says, “but discovered I really didn’t like sitting behind a desk!”
Elicia has hospitality in her blood. An Austi girl (who attended Austinmer Primary School), her parents ran the Clifton Hotel for 12 years, as well as Nowra’s prestigious ‘Boatshed’ restaurant. They currently own an olive grove in Victoria’s Mt Beauty which specialises in olive oil, and Agrumato, a delightful blend of olive and citrus oils.
It’s this love of fine food and fresh ingredients that has led Elicia to run one of the area’s finest restaurants, which is even better now that it’s offering pizza!
“I am not a chef,” she says, “but I have always helped out in the kitchen, I love food, and I love to cook. Sometimes that experience is just as important.”
Currently Chedos is offering 8 gourmet pizza delights. There is also a gluten-free option.
Delivery is from 6 pm, Wednesday through to Saturday, with Sunday nights a possibility.
