There is growing momentum around the issue of plastic bags, with recent screenings of the “Bag It” documentary, and local advocates initiating ideas to reduce their use.
On Tuesday 30th April, the Sea Cliff Community comes together to discuss the use of single
use plastic bags and the concept of a 20c plastic bag levy.
“The NSW Environment Trust will help with funding,” says Jenelle McWilliam, coordinator of the meeting, “and I have invited Councillor Greg Petty and Susie Crick from Surfrider Foundation.”
“We invite local designers to submit their ideas for a logo for our local reusable bags.”
“All are welcome – please come along to the Helensburgh Bushland Chapel from 7pm and help make a difference to the health of our community, wildlife and our coastal environment.”
