ON WEDNESDAY, January 23, a Dapto man was charged at Wollongong Police Station with offensive behaviour, after allegedly filming up the skirts of local women.
On Monday, October 15, 2012, the man was captured on CCTV using his mobile phone to allegedly film up the skirts of three women at a shopping mall on Crown Street.
On Friday, October 19, the man was again captured on CCTV in the same mall allegedly filming a woman while walking behind her.
Police were alerted and officers from Wollongong Local Area Command attended the shopping centre and commenced inquiries.
On Wednesday, December 12, officers spoke to the 21-year-old man before seizing his mobile phone.
It’s alleged the phone contained footage of other similar offences.
Following further inquiries, the 21-year-old was arrested and subsequently charged with four counts of filming person’s private parts without consent; and two counts of behaving in an offensive manner.
He was conditionally bailed to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
