Police are appealing for witnesses after a near-drowning at Bulli Beach yesterday.
Around 11am, a 48 year old man was spotted face-down in the water, about 150 meters south of Sandon Point Surf Club.
He was brought to shore by bystanders who commenced CPR until lifeguards and paramedics arrived. The man was then conveyed to Wollongong Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Wollongong Police would now like to speak to the people who helped take the man out of the water. Anyone who saw the incident and has not yet spoken to police is being asked to contact local police via Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
