This Saturday sees the local surf community come together for the second annual Project Purpose at the Timber Mill Studios in Bulli.
More than 450 people are expected to turn out to raise money for water filters, which will be distributed to parts of the world where there is no clean water.
Organiser Raine says last year’s event raised more than $25,000. “We bought the filters then distributed them to travellers across Australia who have taken them to communities in India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Africa, South and Central America, Fiji and even Central Australia.
“Can you believe there are parts of Australia where the people have limited access to clean, safe drinking water?”
Tickets to the event are $20 and include live entertainment, dinner and $5 drinks.
